I really enjoy the challenges that all aspects of dentistry provide. There have been many changes in dental care since I qualified from The Royal London Hospital in 1978. Some of these changes have been considerable, and most, positive. I believe dentistry is a worthwhile profession that people really appreciate even when not enjoying it much! Modern no-fuss dentistry is a very satisfying job.
Taking part in a variety of sport has been a large part of my life with water-polo being my main interest. I have been a keen player since I was 11 years old, with a career peak of playing with The British Universities Team.
I volunteered for the London 2012 Olympic Games and was given a specific role, which was one of three emergency 'field of play' dentists for the water polo competition. I am very proud of my purple shirt!
Stephen qualified from Guys Hospital in London in 1979. His first job was in the emergency and oral surgery departments giving him valuable experience in oral surgery.
Originally from East Anglia he moved to Bath in 1983 and joined the Wellsway practice. His knowledge gained over the years has confirmed that general practice is very much a specialty in itself and that there is no substitute for experience. Stephen completed a Basic Acupuncture Course in October 2012.
David qualified from Birmingham University in 2001. After deciding to settle in Bath, David joined the team at Wellsway Dental Practice in 2002, becoming a partner in 2007.
He is focused on providing high quality restorative treatments with a patient orientated ethos. David is committed to post-graduate study and training in order to be at the forefront of patient care and dental techniques. He has a special interest in implants, functional aesthetics and the management of wear.
Katie graduated from Bristol Dental School in 2010, and is the newest dentist to join our team here at Wellsway. Katie graduated as the top dentist in her year, and was awarded the BDA medal in 2010. She is a very dedicated dentist, and especially enjoys treating children and nervous patients.
She is studying to gain her qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons and plans to gain her certificate in IV Sedation to extend the care she can provide for nervous patients.
